This month I have let my writing suffer, as a result of trying to market my blog.
I don’t think any of the blog-posts I made this month holds a candle to my best articles.
Writing Inspiration #4 was about taking inspiration from video essays, often about analyses of certain works or writers.
When I am stuck while writing, I watch video essays.
Not to blindly follow the storytelling-advice they provide, but to shake something out from my brain that was already there, just a bit out of reach.
In my last post I told you about how the Hamilton-song “Non Stop” shames me into writing. This time I want to write about the beauty and horror you can find in nature, when taking a hike.
This week (and some of next) I want to make a short blog-series about the various things that inspire me when I write.
Since I’ve already gone into great detail about how the art of Theodor Kittelsen have inspired me, I figured this was a good place to start.
There is this one writing advice from the famous novelist Steven King which talks about how you should write a thousand words each day. Not even worry about quality, just go back to edit it later.
I just finished the rough draft for the last half of my script for the first issue of my upcoming comic-book! (The one I mentioned here.)
2017 has been weird. But for myself it has been pretty great.
Me and my girlfriend bought and moved into our own apartment, as opposed to renting. It has resulted in some furniture shopping,but not more than I can handle 😉
About a year ago, I wrote a script for a Doctor Who comic book where the titular alien time traveler The Doctor from the BBC TV show, meets the music legend David Bowie, and then they battle robots with sick guitar jams!
