Gaming Backlog Countdown: 25!
In the last entry of my gaming backlog countdown I went from 35 games to 30, and checked off three games on my PlayStation 3, plus two games I played on my PlayStation 4.
30 Years of Me | An Autobiography
Today is my 30th birthday! I’ve long had a plan of making a sort of autobiography composed of several blog posts on this site. This week, after writing a bunch of new posts, I finished that goal.
“Rafting” for Charity
It was 2006 in my Norwegian hometown of Bergen, and I was sixteen years old. One summer day, me and a friend set sail on a raft made of wood, empty plastic bottles, and pure determination.
Visiting My Grandmother in Ålesund
In November of 2015, me and my girlfriend Renate visited my maternal grandmother in Ålesund, Norway.
Renate had only been in Ålesund briefly one time before, but I had been there plenty of times.
My First Trip to The Mediterranean
For Norwegians, the Mediterranean is one of the most common holiday travel destinations.
It is such a common destination for us that we have a shorthand for everything around that area. “Syden” directly translated just means “the south”. But for us it just refers to the area around the Mediterranean, despite almost everywhere being south of Norway.
Attending Culinary School
I attended my second (and last) year of culinary school during the 2007-2008 school-year, when I was 17.
During the first year we had been taught a bunch of general skills in the food service industry. For the second year, we had to choose a specific field. Chef, waiter, or baker. I chose to become a chef.
Our Family Cat
When I was 12, in the late summer of 2002, my mother got a cat for our family.
She had paid for an orange British Shorthair kitty. She had intended to attend a yearly cat show that was held in walking distance from our home.
My Confirmation
In the spring of 2005, when I was 14 years old, I had my church confirmation.
Most people in Norway become part of the Church of Norway when they are baptized as a baby. The Confirmation is when people are old enough to chose for themselves that they still want to be part of the religion.
Moving & Memories
When I was eight years old, my parents got divorced.
There had been a long period of relentless arguments between the two. Finally my mother took me and my sister, and moved out.
Boating With My Grandpa
Here’s a few pictures of me, my sister and my grandpa. They’re from a boating trip we went on to Ona Lighthouse when I was seven years old, in 1997.
Getting A Sister
My sister was born in December 1994, when I was four years old.
One of my earliest memories is from when the paramedics helped my mother out to the ambulance.
