During the late 90s, when I was between six and nine years old, I was a giant Spider-Man fan!
I never read any of the comics, I was more into Donald Duck and Scrooge McDuck comics when I was little.

Last October I listed my ten favorite Halloween movies, so this time I decided to write about some Halloweeny films I’ve seen since then.
IT is fine. IT is great!
I recently saw both the 1990 version and the 2017 version of IT, the movies based on Stephen King’s 1986 horror novel.
The Acid Zombie
I decided to make a mixed drink for this month’s geeky recipe, and it is naturally Halloween themed.
It is a slight variation on a mojito, with extra lime and mint leaves, topped with a frozen “brain” containing water and blackcurrant juice.
For a single glass, you’ll need to mix:
4 centilitres of lime juice
6 centilitres of soda water
7 centilitres of white rum
1 whole pot of chopped up mint leaves
Vegan Vampire Soup
We are quickly closing in on the month of Halloween, and I wanted to reflect that in this month’s geeky recipe.
The result is a beety bloodbath of a dish, a feast fit for any vegetarian vampire, werewolf or cannibal.

The Recipe
(Serves 2 monsters)
1. Boil two large beets for 15 minutes, or just buy boiled beets.
2. Cut a small piece off each beet, so that they are flat on the underside, and can stand still on a surface.
3. Use a knife and a spoon to scoop out each beet into a bowl.
4. Take the pieces you cut off from the undersides and insides of beetbowls, and slice them into pieces. They should look like gory meat chunks.
5. Set aside two tablespoons of diced beets, and put the rest in a small pot.
6. Add 1,5 deciliters of water and a half tablespoon of vegetable bouillon powder.
7. Bring it to a boil, then mix it all together with a hand-held blender.
8. Adjust the taste with salt, pepper and a small squeeze of lime.
9. Serve the soup in the beety bowls, and decorate with the diced beet chunks you put aside earlier.
10. Watch out for vampires!
Top 5 Songs from ‘MoS: Level 6’
Back in February, I shared my favorite song from each ‘Miracle of Sound’ album.
This proved to be very difficult, as there are so many great songs there!
So I have decided to make a Top 10 or Top 5 list for each album, depending on how big the album is to begin with.
5. Don’t Say A Word
I have yet to play any games in the Metal Gear Solid series, so this song does not have any familiarity to something I like to help it ingratiate itself to me, like a lot of other songs by this artist.
I simply enjoy the song, nothing more to say than that.
4. Lady Of Worlds
In this song about The Witcher 3’s main female character Ciri, Gavin gives away most of the singing-duties to Ailin Kennedy.
As with all his other Witcher songs, this one is also great.
I look forward to CD PROJEKT RED!’s next game ‘Cyberpunk 2077’, if only to hear the songs it will inspire Gavin Dunne to make.
3. Road Rage
I love the movie this song was based on, and I think it is a modern action-classic.
The song fits the movie’s focus on the metal of cars and bullets perfectly, while also touching on the heart of the film, motherhood.

2. London Town
While I have played a lot of games in the Assassin’s Creed series, I have not played Syndicate, the game this song was based on.
One of the reasons that I really like this particular song is that I used to be a huge anglophile during my teens, probably helped on by my love for Doctor Who and Harry Potter.
And while I am not quite as crazy about Britain as I was back then, I still love it.

What I Did This Summer
Me and my girlfriend’s summer-holiday is coming to a close, so I figured I would share with you how we have been spending our time off.
Hiking
We have climbed one mountain each week, counting an upcoming one this sunday.
The two previous times we combined the hike With some blueberry picking, and on sunday we are eating at a cafe on the top of Fløyen mountain with the friend we visited in Oslo.
Dinner with family
We had dinner at each of our mothers’ individually, and played a lot of gin rummy with each of them.

Ant-Men and The Wasps
Back in April, I stated that I had written something about each Marvel movie that had been released since I started this blog, and that I would try to continue doing so.
But while I enjoyed their most recent film ‘Ant-Man and The Wasp’, I could not find much to say about it.
While the film had a lot of very fun action-sequences that utilizes the heroes size-changing abilities in incredibly creative ways, I liked the heist-movie parts of the first Ant-Man film much more than the story of the second film.
And since that is pretty much all I can think of to say about the movie, I figured I would write a bit about ants and wasps.
Yeah.
Ants
When I was (let’s say) six years old, I was out playing with some friends.
It was me, a neighbor-girl the same age as me, her older brother and one of his friends.
The older boys had found an upturned log and a large rock With a huge anthill in-between them, and they were jumping between the log and the rock.
Possibly in an attempt to impress the girl, or maybe just the older boys, I decided to join in.
One, or maybe more, tried to tell me that it was too far for me to jump, but I proudly insisted.

King Kong Crazy
I recently saw three great King Kong movies, never having seen a single King Kong film before in my life.
Here is a writeup of what I thought about the three flicks and how they differ.
King Kong (1933)
Directed by Merian C. Cooper and Ernest B. Schoedsack, this film started it all off with a bang.
The movie depicts a group consisting of a director, his film-crew, an actress, and a ship’s crew, who all travel together to an undiscovered island to film a docufiction.
They find a tribe living on the island, who

InterRail 2010 – Part 10: Alnwick Castle
After visiting Cardiff I took the train back to England, and traveled north up to Newcastle, Northumberland.
After dropping my rucksack of at a hotel, I hopped on the bus out to Alnwick Castle.
I had traveled to this particular castle because this was the castle which had been used as the filming location for Hogwarts in the first two Harry Potter movies, ‘The Philosopher’s Stone’ and ‘The Chamber of Secrets’, and had as a result informed the look of Hogwarts in all subsequent films.
In the movies there were of course a lot added to the castle in post-production, mostly in height, but I did not mind. Hogwarts was a place I had wanted to visit ever since I devoured the books as a child.
While doing research for this post, I learned that the castle had been used to film many other things than just Harry Potter, but one of them made me really exited.
In February of 1983, Rowan Atkinson and his co-stars were filming around Alnwick Castle, as it would double as King Richard IV’s castle for the first Blackadder season, titled ‘The Black Adder’.
Blackadder is one of my favorite comedy shows, so I wish that I would have noticed that when I was there.
After I was done soaking in the Hogwartsian atmosphere, I took the bus back to my hotel.
And after a night in Newcastle, I started my journey southwards, to France!
