Website Makeover

website makeover sindrelf

I’ve been spending a few days trying to give my website a makeover.

Here’s a few things that are different:

My front page used to display my most recent posts in their entirety, which was not the best choice as not everyone wants to read all my posts.

Since I wanted to display excerpts with clickable images, I had to change my website theme from the Hemingway Rewritten theme to the Baskerville 2 theme.

It looks pretty much the same as the theme I am used to, with just a few improvements.

Please, have a look around, let me know how you like it 🙂

I also installed the Yoast SEO plugin, linked my blog to Google Analytics and Google Search Console, and I have been spending a lot of time trying to optimise my site for search engines.

Not a moment too late, as I feel that I am already getting a bit more hits from Google.

One of the things Yaost asked me to do was to choose five cornerstone pages from my blog.

These are my longest and best pages, the ones I want to show up first when someone searches for my blog.

I went with: Anubis: Dog of Death, The Art of Theodor Kittelsen, Jonathan Coulton’s Career, Douglas Adams’ Legacy, and My Gaming Backlog.

That way I am showing off some of the topics I cover the most on my blog.

So, let me know if you like the changes.

This took some time, so I am glad that I can finally get back to writing 🙂

    1. Thanks 🙂
Yeah, I went through a lot of themes that were almost good enough, but had some annoying flaw.
Pretty happy with the one I went with.

  1. Loving the new theme. You can see everything quite clearly and it looks easy to navigate 🙂
