‘Anubis: Dog of Death’ is an action comedy comic book series about the Egyptian god Anubis, doomed to live as a tiny purse dog in LA.
This is a video adaptation of my The Art of Theodor Kittelsen article.
The Norwegian artist Theodor Kittelsen is my favorite painter. During his career as an illustrator he defined the look of trolls, Norwegian folklore, and The Black Death in Norway. The video includes some of his best paintings, and explains what makes his art so great.

Issue #2 of an action comedy comic book series about the Egyptian god Anubis, doomed to live as a tiny purse dog in LA.
The comic is written by me, and drawn by John Barry Ballaran.
In February 2020 I successfully funded my first comic book Kickstarter campaign for Anubis: Dog of Death. Then in June and July came the time for fulfillment. Printing and shipping the rewards to all my backers.
Janette Ramos is a digital artist based in the Philippines, who specializes in fantasy art for tabletop and video games.
After I had written the script for Part One of my Anubis: Dog of Death comic book, I and artist John Barry Ballaran had to agree on several things in the pre-production phase of making the comic, before John could start drawing the pages. One of the things we had to decide upon were how we would utilize speech bubbles for our different characters.
